So just landed in this small city of Salalah in Dhofar Region of Oman. This is my first time in the city, I have been appointed at a company in Salalah as Marketing Manager. First impression of the city which came as Salalah International Airport is modern and extra quite. Immigration lines are vacant as only small aircraft's lands at the airport. When I got finished with my immigration clearance, the conveyor belt was revolving only with my two suitcases on it. Most of the people accompanying me from Dubai to Salalah were Omani locals, who mostly travel to Dubai for shopping and leisure.
People of Oman are known to be extraordinarily helpful if you compare to other GCC countries and I experienced it. On my way to Hotel at 9 PM the roads were empty though it was pretty early to be empty. City seems to be very compact with two main districts known as New Salalah or Salalah Jadeedah and Old Salalah ( yet don't know the Arabic name of it ). Anyways lets see how it goes in a very quite city compared to my earlier professional experience in Leeds , London and Dubai. Somehow I like the atmosphere of the city. Will share my experiences again. Till then Maa salaama !!
